I just bought an 04 Expy with the 5.4 engine. I was wondering how much horsepower and TQ it had. thanks.

 

260 and 350 Hasn't changed since '99 and won't until the new 3v is available in the Expy. Although, I haven't heard anyone that could "feel" a difference in power between the 2.

Correct on the 3v. Torque is about the same. The number is slightly higher I believe but it's something like 360. Multi valve generally get's you more efficiency in the upper RPM's hense more HP. Is the extra HP usable for 99% of the way people drive a truck/SUV? In the ad's and competitive marketing data it sure is! Imagine if Ford would get real, and compare power in usable ranges like 1500 to 3000 RPM. I would think GM would get killed. Of course that is if they could get people to think "real" and realize that they may hit 5200 RPM 3 times in as many years in most cases.

Ok, I'm off the soap box. Must be the diesel fumes getting to me.
