99 expy leaking oil and smoking

99 expy leaking oil and smoking

anyone else have this problem, the truck has 50k miles on it and thought it was bull that it's happening. oh and it's on the 4.6l engine

Of course it's not normal, but how it's been maintained certainly has something to do with it. Of course there could be a problem but more details would be needed.

My 5.4 has 62k on it and doesn't leak a drop of anything anywhere nor does it smoke at all. Runs excellent!

Car maintenance is very good, change oil every 3k milkes. Noticed leak @ 47k. Switched to Mobil 1, car runs much better. Oil leak slowed considerably. Now the oil leak is becomming worse. Best gues for location is the heads, is leaking and dripping onto headers. 4.6l too small for the Big E, too much for the engine.

the police dept has a 97 expy that i work on it has 88000
on it runs great no leaks and they beat the crap out of it

Guessing it on the passenger side near the rear.
Welcome to the Ford head gasket problem!
