Smile Lift w/ air suspension, and a few other ?'s

Hey guys and gals,

I'm not an Expy owner, but my father's planning on buying one soon, so I thought I'd float a few questions out to those who know

-First, is it possible to lift an '04 with the air suspension? I'm talking maybe a 2"-3" lift; just enough to put some slightly taller tires on.

-How do the transmissions in these trucks hold up under light-duty usage? Both of our Explorers had to have trans. overhauls at ~100k miles with timely maintenance and no towing, so let's just say that I have little faith in Ford automatics

-Have any of you had any problems with the independent rear? Any drawbacks to it, especially when venturing off-road?

Thanks in advance,
Jose
