Surging IDLE

Hey Guys,

My Brothers 97 Expedition has a surging idle problem. The idle drops down below 500rpms and sometimes dies. I did a search and will try some things.(IAC ect.....)

I took the plastic cover off of the intake manifold and can hear a vaccum leaks sound? Is this normal. I couldnt find any leaks just by feeling around. When I rev it up the vacuum sound goes away?

any ideas.

thanks,
Roc

Go to your Ford dealer parts dept. and get a PCV tube most likely is leaking vacuum at the rear of the intake manifold where the pcv tube connects I think they are around $30

Sounds like the IAC to me. It might be better to replace it, but it's real easy to clean! You should at least clean it while you're in there.
