Drip/leak from rear of '03 Expy...

Does anybody know what might be dripping/leaking from the rear of an '03 Expy? I have a small drip that is running down the front of the rear differential. It seemed like mostly water with a little dark color to it and it is staining the driveway. Could it be the rear axle shafts?

Thanks for your help.

Ok, I finally got to crawl under the Expy to see where the leak was coming from. It appears to be coming from the front of the rear differential where the driveshaft goes in. I guess I will be taking it to the dealer soon. That is a shame since I only have 1,000 miles on it.

Update. Well it is leaking again. This time it seems worse. It is now in the shop with 8300 miles on it. I love the truck, but wish they would get the leak fixed.

Has anyone else had a leak from the rear diff?

No leak. Just had the entire rear replaced with the right side shaft.

For some reason the limited slip clutch pack went bad and the shaft that connected to the gears was apparently damaged so badly they could not disconnect it from the assembly.

Runs good now. No vibrations. No leaks.

Ford!...

If I could only get the doors to stop rattling.

BTW: I live in Northern VA near Dulles. You?

Got it back yesterday and the leak should be fixed for good this time. The flange had a bur on it that was cutting up the seal. This time they replaced the flange and seal. You would think they would have looked for the cause of the leak the first time though.

I live in Roanoke in SW VA.
