Rear wiper

My rear wiper stopeed working. I was able to give it a little push, and it would work OK. Again it did not come on with the switch, and the nudge didn't help. I took apart the assembly. there is a plastic gear in there that snapped off a couple teeth.
I own a 2000 XLT now, and also had a 99EB with the same problem. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix out there besides replacing the gear with metal instead of plastic?

they replaced mine under the wiper recall.
the rear wipers are known to be somewhat tempermental, but after the replacement motor, no more problems.

Mine has also quit working it was very intermitant for awhile but don't work at all now. I have seen no recalls on it. Where did you get your recall info from.

Never use mine. Whats the point? Still works though. I think there was a recall on this earlier.

Replaced mine-

I have a 2000 and mine stopped working in April.

There was a recall in late 2000, but that was on the Wiper Motor Cover, not the wiper motor. (A point they clarified to me).

Anyhoo, I had it replaced under warranty.

Unhappy

The rear wiper on my 01 Expy acted up this past weekend. Had to apply a moderate amount of upward pressure on arm to get it to work. Going to check it later and see if it acts up again, if so, off to the dealer.
