Replacement tires for Expy Eddie Bauer 4x2

Will be taking posession of a new Expy this week, and am considering having the dealership take off the Continentals and replacing them with a different tire (if I can get any decent credit on the takeoffs).

We replaced the Firestones on my wife's Explorer with Michelin LTX M/S and really like them.

Any other suggestions?

I have had BF Goodrich Duelers and they gave me a real good ride for about 65k miles. But if I hit any standing water you could feel. I now have the Michelin LTX MS and I love them. I like the ride seems alittle bit smoother and I don't feel the water near as much. Only had them on for about 3k miles.

I have had the Michlin in both LTX M&S as well as the LTX AT and like them both quite a bit. The conti is a peice of crap.

I highly recommend you consider the new Bridgestone Dueler AT REvo . . . it's the best on value on the market right now IMO.

Stay away from the BFG LongTrail TA (no grip), the BFG AT is good but not the longtrail

Put on the Mich Cross Terrains 2K ago. Man, what a difference over the GY RT/S Wranglers. No wheel spin in the rain when accelerating, turning at slow sppeds is effortless, and a quiet ride FWIW.

I currently have the Bridgestone Dueler AT's and think they are awesome. I've also had several sets of Michelins and liked them too. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Recently replaced worn out Michelin XC LT4s with Yokohama Geolander HT/S. Reasoning was:
- Same or better reviews on tirerack and other boards on the Yokohamas vs Mich & GYs
- Yoko's were about $50 cheaper a tire

After a bit 3000 miles I'm happy with the decision. Impressions:
- yoko's as quiet as the LT4s were
- dry and rain traction as good so far
- tread pattern and sidewall look better (I prefer the rugged look)

Time will tell if the wear is as long, as I got about 45K out of the LT4s

check into the Bridgstone Dueler a/t Revo-- I've heard a lot of good coments about them. I have the old dueler a/t's on mine now and love them. great traction wet, dry, snow or ice. also very quiet.

good luck, conner
