03 Expedition problems anyone else?

I purchased my wife a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition back in July of 2002 and have had nothing but problems with it. It has been in the shop 5-6 times for blowing hot air for extended periods, you can hear something to do with the A/C cycling on and off under the dash on the passanger side or in the rear panel opposite the sub. This noise is very noticable and very constant. Has been in the shop to have mirrors replaced because of wind noise that can be heard over the radio. The A/C has dripped bright green fluid all over my garage.
All these problems have been heard or felt by employees at the dealership.......so it is known by them. Last week the ripped several parts out of one on the lot because the parts needed to fix mine were on national back order.
Needless to say after taking it in for hot air again today I did not get any hot air on the way home, but plenty of cycling noise playing loudly under the dash. Just finished my lemon law papers and thought I would see if anyone else is having these problems.

01 SuperCrew-Replaced motor-knocking (besides that) Great
01 Sporttrac-Never been in shop

Just got my 03 EB Expy. Only 400 miles on it and only ONE complaint: TOO MUCH BRAKE DUST ON FRONT WHEELS....

VEry VERY ugly wheels in only 100 miles... I hope this subsides.

Thumbs up no problems here

Almost at 10K miles and happy with my purchase. I have noticed that the A/C cycles a tiny bit, but not uncomfortably. I do have the same brake dust issues, and these tires (Contitrac SUV) SUCK when wet.

Just got back from my first trip in the 03. Washed the brake dust before I left. Its not accumulating as bad. I think the initial coating of tire shine (Armor-All) from the dealership did not help.

1200 MILES and 2 PROBLEMS STARTING:

1. I notice a knobby-tire like feeling when I let off the gas around 20-45 MPH. Its a vibration like a tire in the front is going bad.

2. I notice MANY rattles in the car. Like its coming loose on me. The drivers side rear door appears to have come loose enough to rattle over EVERY bump. VERY VERY annoying!!!

My 2002 Toyota Highlander with 24K still feels VERY new and VERY tight.

Why cant Ford make a vehicle like Toyota? For the money I am starting to have second thoughts.

Figure I will wait until the tire (hopefully only tire) thing gets worse so the dealer can find the problem easily.

Will they adjust the door or tighten it for me?

The 19.2 MPG on the highway is nice!! Wonder what the heck they did to get that?

I checked the rear drivers-side door and YUP its loose.

Angry

I ended up getting rid of my 2003. Too many problems and was disgusted with the quality. First two Exps. were great except for coil packs.

FIXED!!

Apparently there was a TSB and something about a spring installed on the front differentials... The knobby-tire feeling is gone!

Doors are adjusted and no more rattles.

Can you give a little more info on the TSB. My buddies X has the wobbly steering wheel at highway speeds. Dealer rebalanced them and the same feel. Dealer replacing front tires now, we'll see what happens.

no probs yet

Just purchased an 03 EXP XLT. Since I only have 100 miles on it, I cannot comment on all of the problems that have been reported, but will keep everyone posted.

Now my 97 F150, that is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT story

We have about 9000 mile now and some of the likes are as follows,, 1, chassis, this is THE BEST big suv chassis wise ever,, tracks straight, handles very well, and rides great,, 2 like the motor, but needs more power,, ( yes i told the wife to wait for 04) some dislikes,, bad paint,, Ford in particular can't paint a vehicle to save there lives!! hood had black specks in it,, Doors,, they sound like s*** when you barely shut them,, HORRIBLE brake dust!!!! but great traction lok rear axle,, and yes we were getting the vibration from the front axles trying to spin in 2WD, they put a spring in front diff, and no more vibs,, Also the HIGH beams are the best of ANY vehicle i have ever driven, including my Lightning with Sylvania silverstars,,,
