???? For those with Edelbrock IAS shocks or Bilsteins for 99-02

I've read a couple of message on various Ford boards with mixed reviews about the edelbrock IAS shocks. Some say they're great shocks, not too stiff ride but others seem to have problems with them after the intial period.

For those with the 99-02 expy's or to be more specific, for anyone with them or anyone who has the LLS rear suspension, how are they now since you first installed them, and would u go for a different shock since then?

I'm looking at the Edelbrocks and Bilsteins, both fit what im looking for, im leaning towards bilsteins even though they might have a firmer ride.

Also i didn't see an application on edelbrocks site for expys w/ LLS
do they even make em for the 4x4 LLS expy?

TIA

Wil

I've had Edlebrocks for quite some time now and they've been consistantly great. I also tow a 7500# boat.

However, you're correct, Edlebrock does not have them for rear LLS, although depending on how you ask them, they don't say they will not work. The application guide I saw was non-specific and didn't exclude rear LLS and when asked, they would say "no" but would also confirm "yes" without saying "no" Confused? I was too, so I went with them.

Also, no one makes a replacement for the front LLS as they are a type of "air shock" for lack of a better word.

Bilstien DOES have an application specificly for rear LLS, but as you mentioned, some say they are a little more harsh. Something else to consider, if you're application is considered "heavy duty" such as a lot of heavy towing or hard off roading you may want to lean toward Bilstein. The Edlebrocks supposedly loose useful life quicker under extreme conditions.

Another you might try it Rancho 9000. I'd consider Rancho if I were to do it again, but I've been very pleased with the Edlebrocks.

Good luck with whatever you decide...

FamilyRide, Thnx for the input,

I've admired your Expo. Your ride has a couple of things i plan on gettting. Couple of questions for ya, if u don't mind? :o

1.) How has the addition of the hellwig anti-sway bar and
ES poly bushings kit complimented your ride with your shocks? Was it worth it?

2.)How's that AirRaid intake and Gibs Exhaust? Satisfied w/ perf or would u go w/another intake or exhaust?

3.) I currently have a superchip that i bought bout a 2yrs ago, never had a chance to install it, actually was planning to sell it
because i wasn't sure if i wanted to change to premium,

Is there that big of difference in perf? I hear the shifts are better but can u really feel it and does that transgo shift kit help any?

Has the chip caused any problems, engine wise?

THnx, sorry for the long post tho

Wil

I have had the Edelbrocks in for over a year, no complaints. The Hellwig rear sway bar was a good addition also. The two work good together, the only gripe I have with the swaybar is the endlinks are rusting after the long winter we had.I would go with the Edelbrocks again.
