Angry Not AGAIN!?!?!?!?

This happen to anyone else out there?
Seems as though my passenger window mysteriously shattered all over the inside of the truck and the video system ripped itself off the ceiling and clipped its own cables in the process...

According to the insurance company and the repair shop:
1. this is a very common occurence on the 01 and 02 EB Expeditions.
2. the factory video system is covered for theft under comprehensive, but a dealer installed unit(s) or after market unit(s) is NOT covered, unless there is a special rider for audio or video systems

Man that sucks. As far your insurance not covering it, that sounds like crap too. You would obviously be out the deductable but I would be raising hell and definitely be shopping around for different insurance. Sorry, I know getting ripped off is a bad feeling and it sounds like your getting ripped off twice.

Yeah, you'd have to file a claim under your homeowner's policy, but your deductible is probably $500, $1,000 or 1% of your improvement value.

We see about 3 a week at our shop.
They even steal them out of the new cars on the lot.

Sad that you can't even own anything nice, now-a-days.

Funny thing is, we never got to watch movies while on trips, when we were growing up.

OMG Greg! Sorry that your truck has been treating you that way

Though this is not the reason we moved from Houston to Virginia but while in Houston our vehicals had a nasty habbit of sneaking out at night to go partying? with their friends? only to be found (though two never were found) in a day or two with no seats, doors, wheels, systems, etc.

Maybe it's just that our vehicals are older now but we haven't had any trouble like that from them recently.

Well, I forgot to follow up...but I got the truck back all repaired.
The fun part is that they put the overhead screen out of the 2002 in in (the shell and buttons changed a little).

My $200 deductible wasnt too bad.
The bad part was that the bill from the shop to Insurance was 2900 and change.

They had to replace the wiring harness, the headliner and a bunch of other stuff.

Its ALL better now, and the kids are once again happy.

Later
Greg
