Question Electrical Problem????

The last two times I have filled up my '00 Navi...I have noticed something strange happen. When I go to reset my miles on the trip....there isn't anything there...the lights aren't lit up....nothing...Then about 5 minutes later, it will come back on and still show the old mileage, and then I can reset it, and then it's fine again. Any ideas? Could it be a short? I have noticed it the last two times I have filled up...seems to only do it then.

I had something similar happen with my Expy (twice).

After I filled it way up (4 or 5 clicks) it registered that I had 700+ miles to go.

After driving a while it went down when I turned the car off and on again.

It did this twice and both times I filled it to the brim.

I haven't done that since and it hasn't either.

Hope this helps---Bob

Hmm.....not sure. I am referring to the trip meter...when I go to reset it back to "0" after filling her up, it's not lit up so I can see it...it's just dark...and then after I drive around for about 5 minutes, then it lights back up, and then I can hold it down to reset the trip meter. Very strange!!!

I would make sure the key is off when filling up.
Try that and see what happens.

Thanks, but I always turn the truck off and take the key out and along with me to fill her up.......

Any other ideas? Suggestions?
