Anyone running Flo Pro?
Anyone running Flo Pro?
The muffler shop in town has this line and I am curious what the opinions are. The round mufflers seem to be similar to the Gibson round mufflers. Any experiences to share?
This is probably not much of a comparison, but seeing as how you have no responses here it goes. I have two ofset inlet, center outlet on a 76 F250 with a 390, I can tell you right now that you don't want these on a new ford. You will lose all your low end torque. This 390 that will normally pull a house down at 1200 rpm is a dog all the way up to 2000rpm. But keep in mind this is a old big block. Not much of a comaprison. This is a good strong engine too, only about 5000 miles on it with a demon carb setting on it. I think these would be good on a chevy 350, but not a truck that has torque to begin with!
Stay away from them. They are a imitation Flowmaster and the only thing worse than a flowmaster is a imitation one.
Not trying to make all you flowmaster lovers mad, flowmasters sound good but that is about all they do.

Flo-pro is no Flowmaster imitation. Just another muffler manufacturer. I have a Flo-pro installed on my 03 Expy - sounds great. I actually had a Magnaflow but couldn't take the noise in the cabin. I went back to the same muffler shop (a small mom&pop place that's been doing this for 20 yrs) to see if they had other brands. The install guy suggested Flo-pro - it's more like Gibson. You get the nice sound where it should be - at the tailpipe not inside the cabin. The guy even said that Gibson has Flo-pro make some of its mufflers and simply slaps on their Gibson brand name. Interesting, don't know if it's just talk but these guys know their stuff.
my buddy just put a flo pro catback with dual tailpipes/tips on his '02 Supercrew with a 4.6. It sounds really good but its not very loud, just a nice low rumble. I can hardly hear it in the cab, just a slight rumble but outside it is more noticable. For someone who wants no interior noise but a rumble out under the back bumper, flo-pro does a nice job.
Now if you want alot of interior and exterior noise, do what i did, and straight pipe that baby!!!
