Question 3" Flowmaster Y-Pipe to single 2 1/2" pipe?

I replaced my factroy Y-Pipe with a Flowmaster one. I had gone with 3" pipe after the "Y", but lost too much torque. I then had them replace the 3" pipe with 2 1/2". Unfortunately, they flared the 3" "Y" to to about 3 1/2", and didn't flare out the 2 1/2" pipe. This left quite a gap which they welded together. Is this hurting my performance any with the added turbulance inside the "Y" or am I just paranoid? I also found that a small pin sized hole has developed in the weld so it leeks water out. Is this a good thing or should I have it plugged? Thanks!!!
