Borla anyone?

Has anyone had any experience with or opinions on Borla exhausts for the F-150? I'm looking for a balance of quality, sound, looks, and hopefully some power for a new 5.4 SC I'm about to order.

Borla

I have a borla cat back on my '97 4.6L SB. I wouldn't have it any other way. It has been on for 4 months now and the sound is awesome. The tips are unique and the stainless is high quality. I live in Florida and there is no corrosion what so ever from constantly backing my boat into saltwater(charter captain). Also I did not notice any low end torque loss, but this is by the seat of the pants meter. No dyno runs to prove it.

Borla System

I've had my Borla SI/DO for about 6 months. Sounds great, looks great and my seat of the pants guages show no loss in low-end torque. No drone at highway speeds -- I'd do it all over again. This is on a 2000 5.4 SC XLT.

Borla/B&B

For those that have installed the complete Borla cat with muffer, exhaust pipes, tips, etc...how did the install go? Did it fit without cutting, weilding, etc. I went to a muffer shop just yesterday and the guys there swear stainless steel exhaust systems, such as Borla, never fit properly and you can not bend them fix the problem. The shop guys were pushing flowmaster, which is a good system, from what I have read here but I want to replace the factory stainless steel exhaust system with another stainless steel system such as Borla. Has anyone heard of B&B performance exhaust system. Performance Accessories sell B&B and part of B&B's claim to fame is that it is the best fitting muffler and exhaust sytem on the market. Is that true?

B&B

I have talked to them and actually got a quote from them before about exhausts, and i personally dont think they were worth the money. I think im going with a flowmaster just because of towing reasons but I have herd VERY good things about BORLA and for the money, I would just go with the borla over the B&B.

Fit

My cat back system bolted right in. The hardest thing to do was to remove the old exhaust. It took about 20 minutes to install(including removing the old exhaust). I have an air compressor, so that made things go considerably faster.

I don't think Ford's exhaust is stainless. My guess is that the piping is aluminum. I kept the cat. back from when I had the Flows intalled. I could be wrong, though.

My Borla SI/DO cat back system fit perfectly. Had it installed at a local Midas shop. I thought their charge was a little high ($100), but I didn't have the time or desire to do it myself. They were finished in less than 40 minutes. They let me in the shop area to "observe" and my opinion is that anyone talking about cutting, welding, etc., just isn't doing it right. The system was a perfect fit.

It is, but it's a low grade, it's the magnetic type. It's cheaper to put on the trucks and gives nearly the same results as your 304 type stainless. Borla uses the 304 type.
