Magnaflow and noise

Hey All,
I've been researching cat back exhaust mods and believe I've decided on the Magnaflow. What I don't know is how it sounds. I'd really like to still have a nice quiet truck in the cab. Has anyone here installed this setup and what's your overall opinion on the Magnaflow system?

Thanks,
Randy

Hello Randyb,

I just changed from the Gibson Supertruck to the Magnaflow. Best darned thing I ever did.
Magnaflow fits your description to a T. When I romp it I get a nice deep bark. While cruising it is about 2 decibles louder than stock.
It also gave me back some of the torque/hp I had lost with the supertruck.
Check with Mike T. at performance products. He gave me the best price/service for the Magnaflow catback. He hanges out in the computer chip forum and posts as superchips_distributer.

I drove a supercharged reg. cab truck with a Magnaflow SI/DO(Thanks, Flats Man!) Anyway, it was perhaps the best sounding exhaust I had ever heard! Not real loud, but enough to be noticed when floored. While cruising down the road, you could not hear it in the cab. Nice low growl when tromped on. I'm still wanting to change my exhaust over to Magnaflows two years later,,,,98

I agree
The Magnaflow mufflers sound awesome on the new modular motors.

Everything I have heard them on from Mustangs, Lightnings, and non supercharged F150's sound great with the magnaflows.

I have 2 magnaflows on mine and I love them.

A friend of mine has a magnaflow on his 2001 F-150 5.4, and it is nice and deep at idle, once he got to 35-40 you could barely hear it, and on the interstate, it wasnt even noticeable. When he got on it, it sounded mean.

Cool

HI!... MIKE T and I just peiced this MAGNAFLOW/JDM set-up up for my truck. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is STAINLESS STEEL right down to the nuts/bolts. I also invested in "DEAD" soft aluminum collector gaskets.

I've got the Magnaflow catback system on my 2001 SuperCrew - awsome! Three inch to four inch stainless cats that sounds great! Did not lose on low-end torque, but gain a little. Go for it!
