CODE P0401 - Still!!!

I got P0401 from the code reader at Autozone. I changed the DPFE sensor first and still had the code. Changed the EGR valve and still have the code now. Anyone had any experience with this. My check engine light has been on now for a long long time.

There is probably carbon build-up in the EGR plumbing. You may need to remove the EGR Tube from the engine and clean it.

Remove the throttle body and clean out the egr passage way with Ford approved Throttle Body cleaner. You can do this in the truck but if you want a perfectly clean job plus you can scrub the throttle plates at the same time. While you are doing the cleaning, disconnect the negative cable to reset the ecm.

I also had this problem on my '97 4.6. I took off my throttle body elbow. When you look inside you will see two ports completely clogged. I was able to fit a fairly large screwdriver through them when fully cleaned. My light went off the next day or two.(I did not reset the computer, wanted to see if it would go off by itself and it did.) Hope that helps.

Question Help...p0401

Could any body give me a picture or a image to explain me what is the throttle body elbow and where are the two ports that most of the times are clogged. because i suspect that this is my problem with my P0401 code in my 97' 4.6 4x4 F-150...
As you can see i'm not a mechanic ..But i want a fix by myself this problem...
Please advise

Thumbs up

Here's a thread with pics of the TB EGR ports plugged up with carbon. It's no wonder the EGR systems have problems on hese trucks. They plug up easily it seems.,,,98
