Question What muffler to choose?

What muffler would you all suggest for my stock 2000 4X4 Supercab with a 5.4L? I want to use the stock pipes but I would like to do SI/DO the rear of the truck. I am not that picky about the sound, just something significantly louder than stock, however, it is imperative that I do not lose any power (high or low end). Any performance increases would be an added bonus.

I have heard good things about Magnaflow. Anyone have any experiences with them? If so, specifically which type to you have? And of course I could always go with Flowmasters but I keep hearing over and over about significant loss of low end power.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I heard all kinds of stuff about Flowmaster Gibson and Borla I've heard good and bad on all 3 that is why my truck is still stock as I don't know what to go with as i don't want to lose any low end when gaining sound as that is the main resaon I want to dual mine out is for a nice rumble sound and a loud rumble when I get on it but I don't want to lose my low end power either.

Hey Bake.. I just went to Meinke and had exhaust work done. Had factory torn completly out and relaced with 2 1/2 in pipe off both sides for true duel exhaust and had 2 flowmaster mufflers put on with 3 in tips. Made a big difference in sound and in performance.

Sincerly

I installed a Gibson Super Truck exhaust about 6 onths ago and love the sound as well as the power. The first few days I had it on the truck there seemed to be a bit of low end loss. After that it came back stronger than ever. I was told that the computer control will 'learn' and adjust to compensate for changes like this.
