Question modify super truck??

I got the Gibson Super truck on my 97. Had it on there for quite a while. What I wanna do is just have one of the tips come out instead of two. I looked and thought, just cut the front one back towards the muffler and cap it off.
Think that would matter on dual out muffler? I really couldn't see what harm it would do.

I dont think that capping off one of the two pipes would be a good idea. The muffler was designed as a dual outlet and eliminating one outlet would really increase the backpressure considerably.

I would change the muffler for a single outlet myself but if you want to keep the super truck you might try using a Y-pipe turned backwards as a collector if there's enuff room.

Good luck.

i dont know how well this would work or look, but could you cut one off with about 3 inches or so left on it and then put a 90 on it??

Cool

svtoby150,

hey, it depends what you want to accomplish. i had a supertruck like you and modified it. i turned it into duals out the back. i did so to cut down on in cab noise. but by doing so i also got two things that i thought were pretty cool. it now looks better (my oppinion) and i gained back a little low end tourque. you can have any local muffler shop run some longer pipes for you. i would just take my truck to them and tell them what you want to do. they should hook it up for under 60 bucks. good luck!

here is a pic of my current setup:

Good looking exhast there. What I really wnat to do is have it swept, at the time I bought the supertruck I couldn't find any that swept out the side. Owning a 97, I want to keep the exhast coming out the side in front of the tire (it's a 97 owner thing...lol)

I have awsome low end power, but i'm lacking alot on the high end.
