I installed the Dual Sport on my 98 5.4l and later swapped it for the swept side. The Dual Sport droned too much in the cab for me. As far as the install goes, you can leave the spare tire in, at least for a 4x2. It is a tight fit between the spare and the shock, but it should work. FYI, I am very happy with the Swept Side.

Thanks Jscott......one more queston for you....how woudl you compare the sound "loudness" at low speeds of the gibson dual sport to other noticable louder trucks you see accelerating at stoplights etc....can you tell its back there when you push the gas basically? i have a swept side on a 5.4 expy....how does the dual sport sound compared to swept side

haha thtas a lot.....thanks though

The Dual Sport was a little louder at idle and it seemed to have a higher pitch to it. Neither of the two have the same loudness of flowmaster mufflers though. I have about 20K on my sweptside now, and it has gotten a little louder/deeper over time.

I've had the Dual Sport for about a year and a half now.. I think it sounds great.. Relatively quiet at idle and cruising speeds, but opens up a bit under acceleration..

It's a tight fit between the spare tire and shock, but I still have both on there!!

You can download my recording at http://www.geocities.com/hokiescott/...dual_sport.wav
