Cat-Back?

Hi Folks,

I'm kinda new here. Been reading a lot of posts about cat-back exhaust systems. Could someone take a moment and explain what cat-back means and what the advantages might be? What would be the warranty implications? Is there a problem with emmissions control in California? Thanks for any feedback

Doug

Folks, I did a little more research and answered most of my own questions. Still would like to get feedback on performance gains for daily driving on the street.

The performance you get from a cat back is not worth writing home about. Most lose some low end and gain more high end.
Cat backs are mostly looks and sound. I have a Borla, I love the Cobra R tips out the side and the sound is awsome. I spent $350 for it and I would do it again, but thats me.
If you want looks, sound, and a bit of performance. Buy one.
If you want sound and a bit of performance, buy just a good muffler.
