Talking true duals being put on tomorrow

Anyone have this done on there 5.4s and if so how have you liked it?

Right now I am "Y" piped behind my cats into duals straight out the back.

Lightbulb

Had the pipes put on. Running true duals with 2.5" pipe to my tailpipes which are still 2.25". Sound is MUCH MUCH better. It really growls when you start it up then mellows out., then when you get on the gas it really has some SNAP in it. highway cruising at 2,000rpms isn't any worse than when I had the fake dual straights. There was a drastic increase in HP at the rear tires. From a dead stop leaving the exhaust shop I got on it a little bit and laid out my back left tire for over 30ft (didn't know I was because I couldn't hear it over the snapping of the pipes). Never took it above 2500 rpms for the burn out either.

Very impressed with this set up and very pleased with the increase in performance.

Exclamation Hey man!!!

So you're running true dual straights w/o cats right? How much louder is it? Did you throw a check engine light at all? Did you get a look inside the stock cats at all?

Jackal,

I still have the cats on it. Glad I didn't take them off or it would be too loud I think. I just had the factory Y pipe cut out and am running true duals. Used 2.5" pipes and ran them to my 2.25" tailpipes. Eventually I will replace it all with the 2.5" pipes and install an H pipe.

Talking Di/Do Magnaflow Installed

Got my true dual system installed today My setup started out with the stock Y pipe after the cats, to a 2.5 pipe straight back to a SI/DO muffler (stock harley D). I went with 2.5 pipes back to a magnaflow DI/DO (12568) muffler. I keep my stock tail pipe.

Well gentleman, I'm hear to tell you that magnaflow sound is WAY better then I had anticipated !! I've got a deep mellow tone at cruising speed (which I wanted), and an even, consistant, deep low tone (not too loud, but you CAN hear it for sure) when you step on it.
BTW no cab drone, and no popping sound.

As far as performance goes, I KNOW I picked up HP in the mid & upper range. Just because it's breathing alot better. As far as low end torgue goes it feels like I picked up some, but with the magnaCharger and the 7psi pulley, I'm already generating a **** load of torque everytime I step on the pedal !

I also bought a magnaflow X pipe but after calling magnaflow and researching more I found out that the muffler I bought already has a X pipe ( not a H pipe) inside of it (I looked).

Man I don't even want to turn the radio on anymore. I just listen to my new exhaust system

Peace
