clicking noise

Talking clicking noise

when i start my 1979 ford f-150 i hear a nasty clicking noise and i was told it was the heads and when i put new performance heads on it made the same noise i need help.

if the # of ticks increases with RPM, then it may be your fuel injectors.

Fuel injectors on a 79' f-150??? It's just my opinion, but you might need to set your valvelash. That's if the clicking noise is in the heads. Could also be a bad rod bearing, If it only does it at start-up, then it might be your starter or solenoid.<---(SP). These are just a few guesses. But if you want to really get some help, go to the pre-1997 models forum. They may be able to help you out there. Sorry if I'm not much help.
