Simple question I think . . .

Does an exhaust system actually add power or just ensure that the power from the engine is more fully utilized than it would be in the stock setup?

both. by making sure the engine's power is fully utilized, it adds to teh truck's overall power output.

It adds to Net Power....

...generally by reducing restriction on the "fourth" engine stroke, pushing exhaust gases out of the cylinder.

It does not cause the cumbustion ("third" stroke) to produce more power.

Hope this is clear.

actually, my reducing the pressure of the exhaust, you're allowing the exhaust gasses to drop to a lower pressure, thereby decreasing EGR, which MAY increase horsepower.

...this conversation is too technical for me. let me say it in my own simplistic way. "you will probably notice the difference"
