Exhaust sytem for 1991 4.9 I6?
I have an 91 F150 and would like to replace the whole exhaust system after the exhaust manifolds, The cats are good so Im just interested in getting all the pipes and muffler to swap in. The current system looks like swiss cheese. Im not really interested in performance, but wouldnt mind. Any good manufacturers out there that sell whole systems like this?
well i know clifford performance ( www.cliffordperformance.com ) specialize in 4 and 6 cylinder engines, so if they dont have what you need, which they probably do, then they'll at least know who does have it. a buddy of mine deals with them a lot, hes got a 300 in his truck making 400 hp and over 500 lbs of torque (not bad for a 6 cylinder)! hope this helps.
4.9L exhaust...
Check with Dynomax... I had a 1995 I-6 on my F150 XL Longbed.
It sounded really nice, and addded some bottom end torque.....
Call JEG'S, or look them up on the net.
Good Luck, R1968

It's easy....the cats absorb about 80% of the noise so you don't even need a muffler! Just run the pipes straight & where you want them. I have run them like that on my 1990 F150 300 cid since it was new, sounds good, moderately deep tone, no drone, engine runs great!
