Unhappy Does anyone make an exhaust for my puny 4.2?

Ive been lookin around and all the good exhausts that Ive seen ( Flowmasters, Borla..) are only for 4.6s or 5.4s...

Am I out of luck?

Are you looking to have two pipes coming out in the back or still just one? Cat-back or off the headers? Also, what kind of sound are you looking for?

I have a 1999 ford f150, 4.2. I put a Flowmaster muffler with dual pipes coming out the back. But I am going to redue it . I am going to put out, or cut out the catalytic converter. I am going to stay with the Flowmaster.I am also going to change the tips, the ones Ihave are old and wont keep the shine. I enjoy the little rumple it gives my 4.2. BUT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT, WE ONLY HAVE 4,2, NOT A V-8. I like the flowmaster

I, myself have the original Flowmaster 40 SI/DO cat-back. It is not a Delta-Flow. The original FM's are louder than the DF versions. Mine does'nt make alot of droning noise in the cab like some others say it does on their trucks. And it is relativley quiet at highway speeds such as 65-70 mph. You can barely hear it in overdrive. It gets loud when you stomp it in 1st, 2nd, &3rd in the 1800- 4500 rpm range. It has a nice rumble at idle too.

Wolverine: are you able to post sound clip? Does it sound like a bumble bee on steroids on acceleration? You know what I mean.

Sorry, but I am not able to post sound clips. It sounds good on take off, but when I go past 4000 rpm's it gets a little high-pitched. But it does'nt sound like bumble bee's on steroids, it sounds more like an exotic sports car like a ferarri or a lamborghini.(SP). No kidding. The Flowmaster 40 will get high-pitched at high rpm's, but the FM 50 will tone it down a bit more(not high pitched). But not as loud as the FM 40.
