Borla=high quality stainless steel construction+high flow "lazy S" modified straight through design. The factory "garbage can" is sorry and the Borla is a great performance upgrade with a nice mild tone. You get what you pay for with mufflers--example= a $35 aluminized steel turbo muffler. I say go for it, if this is your desired sound level.

You need to decide what you want. Performance or Noise. If you're looking to make your V6 sound like a V8, it ain't gonna happen no matter what you want to stick on. Flowmaster will give you more noise. Borla is a quality engineered system, designed for max performance. It's comparatively quiet, and no drone, altho' at WOT, it barks enough. At idle, the big 5.4's sound reeeeeel nice.

have you heard the 6's latley, to me its nothing that i want to be making louder. i just more jucie in the pedal, little more noise is not going to bother me as long as it is not like a honda civic buzzing down main street.

and would it be alright to just take the stock muffler off and replace it with the borla? and use the stock pipe going into the muffler, and then just about a foot or so of the pipe going out and just leaving it like that

Yes, get the muffler with the same in/out diameter as your factory pipe. The muffler shop will bend and add the extra pipe as well as add the appropriate muffler hanger.

crazedf1-

Hopefully a member who has priced them everywhere can come along and add to this thread on the lowest price. I've seen them at Jeg's for $99 and Summit is usually close in price. The stock pipes that I've measured are 2.5". Double check your muffler in and out pipe diameter before you buy first hand.
