another exhaust tip question.

Today I went down to a muffler shop in town. And I asked the guy what was the biggest size chrome tip he had, and he said he could get them in a 3-1/2"X 22". I have duals out the back by the way. And the price on them was $24.95 per tip. So I ask the guy" how much for 2 tips and the cost of welding them on? And he said $45-$50. The installation would be free. Is that a heck of a deal or what??? You won't run across a deal like that everyday! Would those size tips make my exhaust note deeper and give it a more powerful sound? I would like to know before I buy them, so any comments are welcome.

Hello, anybody out there? If anyone has these tips, how would they sound on my FM 40 SI/DO exhaust? Or would it make any difference in sound at all?

sounds like a good deal, those tips would help produce a nice sound. I have 18in on my 5.4 and it sounds great (with the help of my exhaust cut-out), the 22in would sound nice though. i would think the v6 would be a little higher pitched than the 5.4, but the 22in tips will make it deeper. hope this helps.

The guy at the muffler shop said he could get the 5"s, but they only came with a straight rolled edge. I wanted angle cut, and the 3" and 3-1/2"s were the only one's he could get in that style. He also said he could get me some 6"X22" tips! but they were like $60 per tip. Guess I'll go with the 3-1/2"s. If I had a little more money to spare I'd go with the 5"s, but I gotta pay them bills!

LeanNcut, I'm still guessing on that one. What did you mean by Wolverine's an exhaust man?

Thumbs up

LOL, just a joke bro. It means I just see your name on a lot of threads that's all. You're an active F150onliner! Hehe. It probably also means that I'm bored and don't wanna do my homework so I'm on here writing stupid stuff. Yep, must be the 2nd excuse!

Hey, that's one way to get an extra thread. Sometimes I just joke around with these fella's when I have nothing else to do. There are some real good jokes sometimes, but other times we get into knock down drag out fights. J/K! But I do have to say that this place is a good source for info. These guy's will go out of their way to help you out. Later man.
