Exhaust Tip Question

I ALSO POSTED ABOUT THIS IN THE EXHAUST FORUMS. I NEED TO REPLACE MY EXHAUST TIPS BECAUSE THEY ARE RUSTING AWAY. AND TODAY, AFTER LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND SOME COOL LOOKING MEG'S TIPS...AND THEY'RE STAINLESS STEEL FOR ONLY $30.99 A PIECE. THEY HAVE A 2-1/4" INLET, 5" OVAL OUTLET. AND THEY'RE 9-1/4" LONG. HOW DO YA THINK THAT WOULD LOOK ON THE BACK OF A DUAL EXHAUST ON AN F-150? I'M REALLY TIRED OF SEEING THE SAME OL- SAME OL ROUND TIPS ON THESE TRUCKS. I'D LIKE TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. HOW DO YOU GUY'S THINK THESE OVAL TIPS WOULD LOOK AND SOUND? ANY OPINIONS?

What ever you choose to do is up to you!! I think anything over 3.5' tips looks "RICE"!! nothing personal. There is a F-150 here with 5" tips on it, and it really looks like fart pipes. I like the traditional look of 3" tips!! Yeah granted maybe everyone has them, but us "FORDERS" are one big happy family right?! I am in no way knocking what you are asking, that is 100% up to you, but you see big tips on imports, and that is what most people think of when you can stick your fist up your tip!!!

Stay traditional, just my .02!!

HEY PAL!!!
Thats my TRUCK! with the 5in. tips!! and i dont think they look a DAMN bit "RICEY"
But as you said to each his own! and personally i have had my tips on for a long long time way before the rice rocket bull**** came into play and ill grant it to ya! yea the ricers have the big tips but theyre not as big as mine!!! mostly the ricers have a 5in.long to a 9in. long tip but mine are 2 ft. Long not ricey in my opinion! maybe if they were 6in. long but not 2ft.
JJ

And as for you WOLVERINE heres a pic of mine theyre 24x5

Your pic did'nt come through Jimmy Lee. But I don't think they would look ricey either, being 2 ft. long. No way. The tips I'm talking about Derek, are a narrow oval. I guess you could compare them to the rectangular tips on the late Camaro's. They have that configuration. But these tips my friend are "oval". Not big enough to stick your "fist" into! And in my opinion, they don't look a bit ricey at all. I guess you pictured them wrong. And we "FORDER'S" are not one big "HAPPY FAMILY" as long as people like you go around saying so and so's exhaust tips look like FART PIPES! Grow up!

Jimmy Lee, I tried to click the wrong thing. Sorry. I saw your exhaust pipes, and they look awesome. I must comment on them, and they don't look like fart pipes at all. They look more like a "TRUCK" pipe to me. I bet they sound killer!

WOLVERINE,

True 100% stainless for 30 bucks?? I'd advise rechecking the price and/or the item description.. If it's true then post a link, I'll buy 20 or so from them..

Ok those 5" tips look good, The F150 here with 5
' tips on itlooks ricey because you are right, they are short. Because yours are angle cut, that also helps. I wasn't trying to start any fights with my rice comparison! As long as the tips are long, They wont look bad!!

Go to Jeg's High Performance and type in exhaust tips. Then go to MEG'S sound tips. They have some polished stainless steel tips for about $30-$35. The ones I'm ordering are $30.99 per tip. It said they were stainless steel. I don't know if they are 100% stainless, but they don't rust.

I typically haven't gotten too involved in posting, but I've got the Air Force One Performance Exhaust Tips on my truck...they're polished stainless steel but are quite expensive as well. I paid about $85.00 a piece but really liked how they turned out. Just my two cents worth.

JIMMY LEE, ARE YOUR TIPS STAINLESS STEEL OR CHROME? LATER TODAY I CALLED A LOCAL MUFFLER SHOP, AND THEY HAD SOME 24"X 3-1/2" CHROME TIPS FOR $24.95 PER TIP. IS THAT A GOOD DEAL? DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GO FOR IT? THEY LOOK LIKE YOURS BUT THEY ARE ONLY 3-1/2" WIDE. BUT I KNOW THEY WOULD LOOK AND SOUND AWESOME ON MY TRUCK. ONE MORE QUESTION FOR THE BOOKS. WHAT CAN A FELLER DO TO KEEP CHROME TIPS FROM RUSTING OUT? POLISH? WD-40? I'M NOT CRAZY ABOUT GETTING CHROME, BUT FOR $24.95? GEEZ!!! WOULD'NT IT BE COOL IF WE COULD GET STAINLESS STEEL FOR THAT PRICE! I GUESS IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. WHAT? IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. WHAT? I SAID, IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN! WHAT? IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN, CAUSE WOLVERINE SAID SO!
