Question Best catback?

I just recently bought a 1997 f150 flairside with the 4.6L engine and auto trans. It also has the extended cab with short bed. I would like to know what the best cat back system is? Im looking for something that sounds aggressive through out the power band, but also somewhat efficient. Also which is the best intake system?

Borla is probably up there, but expensive. Try Summit, the venders on this sight, search, ect. Definitely go with stainless or aluminized. I'm gonna go with the cheapo Summit kit whenever I get enough scratch. I used to have something similar on my Mustang and it did the trick... nice sound, improved power, and lasted 80k miles.

I'd try Ford Motorsports for the intake.

I have the three chambered flowmaster exhaust. The put it on with tips for $275. I also have the K&N FIPK. All together it has a pretty mean sound and feels stronger. Got the K&N from Summit and installed it myself.

Thumbs up super truck

i currently have a gibson supertruck. it sounds really nice. but i warn you it is a little to loud for some people. i also felt a considerable increase in power (considerable meaning i actually felt it. lol) also it exits before the rear tire. this makes it look like the lightning exhaust. if i were to do it again though, i would opt for the gibson swept side. it adds 7 more hp than the supertruck(according to a gibson rep) and it is stainless steel. But i would miss the sound and look of the supertruck. cost is about 280 or something at truckperformance. you can find it through product reviews to the left of your screen. check it out. and good luck with whatever you decide on.

I have a Ravin muffler on my 4.2 and it sounds great. I think my Air Force One Intake compliments it very well too. I don't know how this setup would sound on your 4.6 but if it sounds anything like what mine does I am sure you will be pleased. My exhaust was installed with tips, pipes, and muffler for about 225-250. and the Air Force One intake costs around 200 i think. The Air Force One intake is stainless steel and has great looks to go along with its perfomance.

I have a Jardine. Not alot of people run them anymore, but I like it. Makes exellent power. About 17-18 HP. Aluminized Steel. Not as loud as Flows. I'd also recommend you look at Magnaflow. About the same power and maybe a little more torque.

Is your Jardine cat-back a single or dual exhaust? And where do you buy it?

Does Bassani make a cat-back dual exhaust for the Ford 4.2L v6? If so, how much is it with the stainless tips?
