Question Flowmaster supertruck exhaust

Has anybody tried to make a copy of the Gibson supertruck exhaust with a flowmaster 40 si/do. The cost would be much less and the sound maybe alil better with the flowmaster. Any pros or cons on this before I go try it. This would be on a 5.4 supercrew and would use round tips out the side.

Biggest thing I could see you might not like is loss of bottom end and I would say loud in the cab. But if you dont mind that let eer rip. Let us know how it works out. Good luck on your decision.

Thumbs down

Just got back from local exhaust shop and he didnt recommend coming out in front of the wheel because of the aafect on the wheel. I have read on this post from people that had this set up and they didnt notice this. He also recommended running a si/do glass pak on the fords with 2 1/4 pipe for the duals to keep the back pressure , anybody running glass pqaks out there?

PhillipSVT give me alittle feed back on performance and sound quality on this system. Also have you had any problem with heat on the rear wheel, thanks in advance.

Stown, the sound of the 50 series is a little quiter than the 40, which was what I wanted. At idle, there is a little rumble, but when at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) the sound really comes alive. I do 22-2300 rpm at 75mph, and the noise isn't much louder than the original. The first drive back from the exhaust shop did seem strange do to the noise, but was overcame very shortly. Living in Ok, I havent noticed any damage to the wheel or tire. The rear tire doesn't seem any dustier either. Here are some Pics below, I have 3 recordings of inside the truck from 55-100, and 0-80, and 0-40, I can e-mail them.

forgot about performance part. I also installed the K&N FIPK a few days afterward, so the perfermance was better. Gas milage seems a little better, so does throttle response, which could be do to the filter.

Here is a pic of underneith, It needs to be cleaned up, but you can get the idea.
