gibson super truck help!

hey guys,

i am having a little trouble with the install of my gibson super truck i ordered. i am going to have to cut the pipe of my stock exhaust to get her off. but i am not sure of the exact point to do so. anybody already do this? maybe some pictures if you got any. and does anybody else think it a little wierd that it did not come with directions?? i know it is basic...but still. they should supply something. any tips or suggestions you guys have would be great. thanks.

When I cut my stock system off I made a cut perpendicular to the outer pipe where the two pipes clamp together after the y pipe. Make sure you only cut through the outer pipe because the inner pipe connects with the Gibson, cutting it shorter on reg. cabs will result in the tailpipes exiting closer to the cab and making it look funny! Only the supercabs need to cut both pipes. Then after you take the stock system off (after lots of pulling and cursing) the Gibson slides on easily! . Hmm, thats odd yours didn't come with directions, as long as you don't cut the wrong pipe you'll be ok!

yes jsut cut the OUTER pipe! I slices mine on both sides then hit the back of the muffler with a big hammer. It works. Then i had to cut about .5 inch off of it so it would fit without hitting my leaf spring

mine came with directions.. just a diagram thats pretty much it.

and if you cut through the inner pipe.....you exhaust will not sit the hangers correctly and you will have to get a new pip.

hope this helps

I noticed it..I also noticed the saving in gas. When I pull my snowmobile trailer with 2 snowmoibiles in it (4500 lbs total) I coundt make it the 230 miles trip....now i can with flying colors!!!

and it just sounds awsome!

Good luck with it and have fun!
