edelbrock exhaust

I already have a Flowmaster 40 dual exhaust, and after having it on my truck for a while, I think it's to loud and I believe I've lost some low end power also. I was thinking of switching to an Edelbrock muffler with just a single pipe to get some of my backpressure back. Also, the Edelbrock muffler is stainless steel so it would last the life of my truck. The Flowmaster on the other hand is starting to rust. And my truck is the V6 so that's another reason I think the duals don't sound so hot. Have you ever heard duals on a V6? To high pitched for me. I think my truck sounds like an exotic sportscar or something! So I think the single Eddy is the way to go with the V6. Does this make sense? Anyone that knows about exhaust please reply.

I used a single in/out Edelbrock on my 97 w/ 4.6L and it sounded OK. Not loud, nice tone. I'm sure it would quiet your V6 down.
