Going to BUY tonight Please HELP

My father In-Law's truck will be getting a few Goodies for X-mass....

I just ordered him a SuperChip. Now I'm trying to decide what Intake and Exhaust system to go with. He has a 2001 F-150 4.2L V6?

What are the choices?

Borla, FlowMaster???
K&N,

Also personal options on the items would be GREAT.

Thanks,
Andre S.

IT DEPENDS

IF HE TOWS ANYTHING, GET HIM THE GIBSON SUPERTRUCK. BECAUSE THE EXHAUST EXITS THE SIDE AND WON'T GET SOOT ALL OVER WHAT HE'S TOWING. OR REALLY, THE SWEPTSIDE WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD CHOICE TOO BECAUSE IT HAS MORE HP/TORQUE GAINS THAN THE SUPERTRUCK, BUT THE SUPERTRUCK IS LOUDER IF HE'S INTO THAT. YOU GOT ME SO FAR... THE SPLIT REAR(OR THE DUAL REAR EXHAUST) AS SHOWN IN THE LAST REPLY IS'NT GOOD FOR TOWING BECAUSE YOU'LL GET SOOT ALL OVER EVERYTHING YOUR TOWING, BUT IF YOU DON'T TOW, IT'S THE WAY TO GO. THESE EXHAUST'S ARE ALL MADE BY GIBSON, AND THEY'RE NOT TO EXPENSIVE. AND THEY'RE ALL BOLT ON EXHAUST'S.HOPE THIS HELPED YOU OUT BRO.

He doesn't Tow anything

As I posted I have ordered the Chip yesterday and now am getting this...

What I want to set him up with is:
  • Chip (In the Mail)
  • Exhaust (Like what I've read on Gibson)
  • Intake (Plan to make my Next Post)

I would like to leave him with a Bit More Pep and the sound Rumble is OK as long as it's not too loud (Anti Fart Can Exhaust on Imports)

Here is a question:
If it were all free and you didn't Tow anything what one would YOU want?

Also if you can help me out with the Intake thing that would be Great.!!!!

www.volantperformance.com
www.knfilters.com/online.htm
Air Force One (Dunno the site)

What one would you want Free or one I didn't name?

Thank YOU,
Andre S.

(The guy everyone here wants as a Son In-Law)

I'm partial to dual rear exits because they look slick and move the exhaust further away from the cab. Hopefully, this retains a quiet environment in the cab while still getting a little rumble out of the pipes.

My $.02

If it were all free I would get the Sweptside Gibson exhaust, a Superchip, and an Air Raid intake. just my $.02 P.S. I would buy some underdrive pulley's to add another 10-12 HP.

If it were free I'd take any of the above.

Since mine cost money I went with a stainless steel Gibson Side Swept. Unless he wants to sacrifice a little low end for more sound it's the best choice from Gibson.

For intakes, most people seem to prefer the K&N or the AirForce 1 kits. Personally I did my own intake mods and put the money towards a couple other things.

Well I did order the Super Chip...
Because I'm looking for Performance take your advice and get the Sweptside Gibson exhaust...

As far as the Intake goes does Air Raid have a website? I can't find anything to read up on them.

I know my UDP (For my Max) was $200.00 who makes one for the F-150 and what will that set me back?

BTW: on a 4.2 what ET should he see with all the crap I’m getting him?

He better NOT be faster than ME...!

Thanks to everyone for the Help especially WOLVERINE....

YOU CAN BUY THE AIRAID HERE ON THE ONLINE STORE ON THE UPPER LEFT HAND COLUMN OF YOUR SCREEN. I THINK IT'S $200.00, AS FOR ET'S I DON'T KNOW BUT IT'LL BE BETTER THAN STOCK. MAYBE LOW 16'S.

I BELIEVE JEG'S OR SUMMIT RACING(CATALOGS) WOULD HAVE THE UDP'S. IF NOT, JUST WRITE A POST ABOUT IT AND I'M SURE SOMEONE COULD HELP YOU. HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT FOR YOU AND FATHER-IN-LAW. AND HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Late to Party

I'm a little bit late to the party, but.....if it were free, I'd be thinking Bassani for the exhaust!
