Question Tips

I have stainless steel tips, I have seen on a post or two that people put wax on there tips,

1) will this work on stainless, (if not skip question 2)

2) If so, will it make them shinnier, or keep them cleaner, or what is the pupose of the wax on the tips. (didn't know if the exhast heat would do something to the wax? )

3) Thank You

Never really thought about actually waxing the tips. I know we all "love" and want to "care" for our rigs, but really......

I just know that mine gets really, really hot. I'd think the wax would burn or melt, making them even harder to clean.

I find that just good ol' soap, water and a brush keeps mine pretty clean. Every now and then, I'll use an SOS pad to clean off the road tar that seems to accumulate on it.

Soap and a brush for interval cleaning. I usually atleast 4 times a year go over the entire tip with Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish. This stuff is the ultimate in cleaning metal. I use it on every metal part of the truck. The bumpers, tips and especially the Westin step bars clean up like you wouldn't believe!
