Question differanct between 97 98 exhaust

I have a 97 regular cab and I am looking for an Exhaust system. I have noticed that there is a difference from 97 to 98, is this due to the 97 putting the exhaust out in frout of the rear wheel? I want it to be behind the wheel, so should I order a 98 to make it go behind the wheel?

Cool Depends......

Order a Gibson Super Truck, and it will exit in front of the tire. Order the Swept Side or Dual Sport, and it'll exit behind the rear wheel. Order any "split rear", and it'll exit straight out the back.

Exclamation ??????

If you are going to use stock or factory setup , you will need to drill some holes in frame for the hangers to make it stock like 98`s. But I would go with a good aftermarket system...Like MagnaFlow .

On the Gibson Swept Side, for the '97, it comes with the hanger for the rear. You still use the factory muffler hanger. No need to drill any holes. There's three or four already back there that will work.
