Catalytic Converters??
I have a 2005 F-150 5.4 with 200,000 miles.

All plugs and coils have been replaced in the last 5 years. New fuel filter. Just cleaned the throttle body and replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and the Mass Airflow Sensor.
Ford tells me that I need new catalytic converters. My question to you folks is this—-
If the converters were plugged, wouldn’t acceleration be limited? As it is, on hills and accelerating from a dead stop, there may be some hesitation/bucking, but once that clears, I can kick it into passing gear and it takes off without hesitation. As long as I apply throttle, the rpm’s increase.
Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated!
I am new to this Forum. I apologize if I have posted in the wrong section.

Not that I am aware of.
I did take it to a muffler shop and the tech doubted that the cats were the problem because the engine would continue to accelerate without hesitation.
he also did the “rubber mallet” test and there was no indication of broken components within the cats.

You do need to have a muffler shop do an actual backpressure test. Both cats are showing low efficiency.
You are showing hard misfires in 3 cylinders and also random misfires. It may be time for new plugs again or you have cheap aftermarket coils. Dirty injectors can also cause those misfires.

It's not just a cat. Sometimes there's2 cats. The o2 sensors. Pipes. Connectors. Hangers. Heat shields. And what about labor?
Assuming that you don't live in California or NY, and parts are still available. Some cars are old enough that they don't make the parts anymore.
