Clapped out

So I have an 05 f150 5.4 stock manifold with super 10 flowmaster and I decided to take the both cats off hoping to have louder exhaust without knowing it would come with the dreaded clapping so how can I make the clapping go away but keep it loud

kinda weird to explain but it’s like a constant bang bang bang as you’re accelerating most of the time heard in straight piped trucks you can find multiple videos on YouTube just search up “the Carolina clap” or clapped out trucks. Sounds like **** in my opinion that’s why I’m trying to get the the loud rumble with no clap

that is a secondary unburned gasoline vapor explosion inside the exhaust pipe caused by the removal of the downstream O2 sensors which "blinds" the ecm's ability to evaluate the A/F mixture....ie, inside the cylinders, you have a very over-rich fuel mixture and 2 things are occurring.....1) unburned gasoline IS washing past the piston rings into the oil.....and yes, it's slowly destroying your crank/piston rod bearings and 2) slowly warping (tuliping) the valves in the heads.

Put the cats back on and the downstream O2 sensors...….

Removal of the downstream sensors does NOT affect the A/F mixture, they only report on catalyst efficiency. Removal of the UPSTREAM sensors will in fact result in an overly rich mixture.

So much for the modeling that I guess does not exist either! That is what they are a contributor to and help determine...….. ie critical component
