I want sound

I have a F-150 5.0L and want more boom for my truck...Would it be better to just purchase a muffler or the full exhaust system?

Go with a Magnaflow, and have it go about 2 feet from the cab pointed down. You'll get a nice boom.

If you want to keep it cheap, start with a resonator delete. If you want it louder, then look at mufflers and systems.
