Take your pick, every thing you mention will be fairly loud. In my younger years we used to all run duals with 12" cherry bombs (they are glasspacks) on our '65-'75 cars. They would make the windows rattle in the old building in our small town, and annoy the local law enforcement officials. Your cat-converter will quiet down the system quite a bit.

A couple things to remember, the shorter the muffler, the louder it will be. The longer you run a glasspack muffler the packing deteriorates making it louder.

If you want really loud, and just replace the muffler with a piece of pipe if you don't need it for saftey inspections.

I replaced my Flowmaster with a Vortex Cherry Bomb on my 99
Expy. I was not happy with my FM. it was too quite for my taste.
Now my Expy is almost too loud haha, I set off many car alarms and turn many heads. But this is what I wanted. My Expy sounds like a mustang on steriods. I have 3 inch pipes with dual
22inch chrome tips coming under the trailer-hitch. (custom job)
The Vortex has 14in gauge.
Believe the sound is awesome. Alot of people tell me that is the way a FORD should sound.

Buy a V8!!!!!!!!!!

 

A cherry bomb on the V6 will sound to raspy and dirty. My buddy had delta flow 50's on his 3.0 Ranger and they sound suprisingly good for a 3.0!!
