Truck: 2000 f150 4.6 v8 151,000
(bare bones basic work truck)
Codes: P0401, P1131, P1151
Scenario: Just bought the truck couple days ago. Been sitting for about a year prior to that. I was wondering what the chances are that its actually the O2 sensors or something else. I can imagine there is alot of carbon build up in the EGR valve ports (P0401).

I'd start by simply cleaning out the EGR ports in the throttle body elbow. Clean the whole throttle body while you are at it.
Check the EGR pipe between the left exhaust manifold and EGR valve - it has a tendency to rot out down by the manifold. Check the little hoses on the DPFE and make sure they aren't cracked.

That's what the plan is, to clean both the EGR and the throttle body. Any good tips on cleaning them? All the hoses look fine no dry rot or cracking. I also ment to add that it wants to stall out when I stop in gear. But when its in neutral or park it idles a little low but smooth. Not shure if that helps any. Any tips are appreciated!

You may also want to clean the IAC - use WD-40 for that, spray it out and work the plunger with a screwdriver until it operates smoothly.

UPDATE- the Egr and Throttle body are now completely clean and unclogged. The last code left was the Bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor, which has been replaced and the check engine light is now off and staying off. New list is the bottom ball joints on both sides and the idler arm! Thank you guys for your input it definitely helped. So if any one has any random tips for a 2000 f150 please let me know. I am really enjoying working on this truck and would like to continue tinkering on my new toy.

You will need a ball joint press for the lower ball joints. Autozone loans them. I bought my own press when I did mine. I have a serious tool habit!
