BLUOVL exhaust take 4ish

There comes a time in every man's life where decisions have to be made. Whether to toil, or trouble, or just plain ... redo your exhaust because you are never quite satisfied! This will be iteration 4 or 5 I think. Sometime back, with the advice of many here including avfrog, rllackey28, DarrenWS6 and several others, I installed a 2.5" system. Maggie hi flow cats (94136), Maggie X-pipe (10791), 4 x 14 Magnapacks (10416) and some beautiful double wall slash cut tips. The truck sounded amazing! But it was loud. It was actually at the time a little too loud. So I cut off the Magnapacks and installed two 5x11 ovals (12246). I've since had a code, yeah, THAT one (p0430 bank 2 catalyst system below efficiency). Anyhow....

I'm starting over with longtubes. Of course money is always an issue, but longevity and quality is important as well. I am pretty much sold on OBXs and running back to new hi flows, x pipe and mufflers. OBXs run $475, but then I have to have the high flows welded on and install a new stainless system which likely wouldn't have mandrel bends throughout. I recently came across the Dynatech SuperMAXX longtubes with catted mid-pipe. (http://www.stage3motorsports.com/200...0-Headers.html)

$1500 and I get the headers and high flows with mandrel bends, and of course it is flanged so I can install the headers and cats myself, install my sensors, clamp on a muffler and drive it to my guy to finish off the system. To me the convenience there offsets the price, and the ability to easily swap cats later if needed because of the flanges instead of welding them to the OBX tubes. Also I know the name is part of the cost, but I have seen many people write about the quality being second to none (maybe, maaayyyybe Stainless Works, but that's for another discussion).

The downsides, as I see them: the Dynomax primaries are 1 5/8", where the OBXs are 1 3/4". I don't know that the 1/8" makes a difference on a NA motor not pushing gobs of power, so I need input/ advice here. The second item in question is how the Dynomax mid pipe ties into one 2.5" outlet. I know most guys here running a SI/SO run 3", this is 2.5", so yeah. Also it kinda kills my idea of running duals. However the Dynomax Y pipe is simply clamped on, so I could probably lose that and run my duals.

I think I will run out of whatever set up I choose and go into the 2.5" X and I think this time I'm going to run Magnapacks again, but this time I think I may go bigger, perhaps the 4 x 18, or 5 x 14. I have also considered the Maggie 12568, a DI/DO straight through. Not sure of anyone's experiences with those. Either way, those are things I can dabble in, my main concerns are the headers. Thanks for taking the time to read my novels fellas.

Note, there is this one for about the same price as the Dynatech set, and it has an X, and it is 1 3/4", but no flanges, I'd have to temp clamp it till I could get to the shop.

The set you linked to is made by Stainless works. BTW the dynatech's are made in Indiana, and the SW's are made right here in suburban Cleveland. Don't have a clue where the OBX's are made, they may even be cheap chinese crap, that would explain the low price compared to Dynatech or Stainless works.
