magnaflow exhaust rusted out

My magnaflow exhaust rusted out. I happen look at my truck and noticed my tailpipe hanging low, so I crawled underneath and it was rusted through over the axle, so I continued on and after the muffler is split also. But I bought the exhaust as a kit at a performance shop where it came with a tuner, and cold air intake, so I got no receipt. So off to buy new cat back exhaust.

Did you put it on or did the shop you bought it at put it on? Sounds like they might have put a magnaflow tip on a cheap aluminized steel cat back kit. Real magnaflow kit use 409 stainless for the tubing and 304 on the mufflers and tips.

I purchased the kit from troyer Performance, then they shipped the exhaust to me and I installed it myself. Then they installed the tuner The exhaust is 9 years old and I live in Pa until 2013 then moved to Florida so it went through the winters. It still has the original exhaust cat up to the manifolds.

So you're saying the exhaust is 9 years old and spend most of that time in the northeast?

Especially if you got a good deal on it as you said, I wouldn't be too upset over that. Roughly 10 years seems to be a reasonable life expectancy for cat back exhaust components.

Well since you bought it from Troyer, they are no longer in business. Magnaflow has a lifetime warranty on the pipes and muffler. If you have a problem, you are supposed to deal with the vendor who you got it from.

When my maggie kit broke (the hanger on the midpipe broke right off the pipe causing a hole) I had to send detailed pics to the vendor, and they dealt with manaflow. A few days later a new kit was delivered right to my door straight from manaflow, and I had to return the old one back to them, prepaid of course. I also bought that magnaflow kit from troyer, and they took care of it, no problem. But they are out of business now so your SOL
