Is it bad too????

I noticed my truck was kinda stumbling,like I needed to down shift.I unplugged the egr valve a bammmmm runs great but in long term is this bad .p.s I live in fl no emission laws thx 2001 f150 4.2 5speed

You should replace the EGR valve.

To answer the original question, yes it is bad. The recirculated exhaust gas cools the combustion chamber, and the PCM is expecting it. Without it, there will be detonation, which the PCM will attempt to counteract. This reduces efficiency.

Also, I would assume an issue like this would cause your check engine light to come on. If that's the case, posting the code stored can be helpful. It may be a coincidence and your issue could lie elsewhere.
