98 expedition DPFE issue

Hello all new to the forum, Just bought a 98 expedition from a fellow who could not get it to go up hills with any power. He had replaced the cat and new mufflers, alternator, and still no luck. I noticed the DPFE hose was burn and not connected so I thought easy fix. Bought the right hose and hooked it up and it blew the hose off after trying to go up a hill. The hose was fine but not connected. I blows a high pressure exhaust out the tube going to the DPFE sensor.

I replaced the Sensor and no difference then the solenoid took it for a short drive and the hose blew out as before and the new DPFE sensor nipple had melted. The exhaust pipe seems have little pressure.

Code P1405 and P1000.

I also own a 79 f150 without a computer.

Any ideas thoughts

What engine? The 4.6s have more trouble keeping the EGR passages clean. Just guessing, I would think you need to replace the egr valve and clean out the passages under the throttle body.

It is a 5.4 and I did check the EGR and it is fine. Did the vacuum test resulted in the engine dying while at idle. It idles fine.

I suppose that means the cat has disintegrated.
