Attention installers of new K&N air filter elements. Check your filter pleats carefully...very carefully! I bought a second K&N filter element for one of my intake systems to eliminate down-time during cleanings. Prior to installing new air filters I always check between each pleat for debris....which turned out to be a good thing, because this time I found loose pieces of cut wire mesh on both sides of my brand new K&N air filter element. Had I not found them, chances are good that one would have got sucked into the intake. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 K&N air filters that I've purchased in the last 12 months have had this problem. Be extremely diligent before installing a K&N air filter!
