Magnaflow high flow 94136

well my truck is starting to give me a rattle in the exhaust when i accelerate. Positive its the cats starting to go. so i figured id replace the with the Magnaflow 94136 universal high flow cats.
Just wondering what everyones opinions are on these.
whats the difference between these and the non universal ones for my truck?
and does anyone know of a site or place i can get a good deal on them?
Thanks

2006 5.4 lariat 2wd

Difference is a matter of installation. Direct-fit has the pipes and flanges already on so it's a bolt-on installation.

Universal cats require that you cut and weld or clamp on the replacements. Less money, more labor.

Your truck should have four converters total, so if you're trying to eliminate two of them, you'd need something a little bigger. But I can't promise it won't throw a P0420 code.

My personal recommendation is the direct-fit converters.

Magnaflow direct-fit converter - left side
Magnaflow direct-fit converter - right side

Indeed, you must have the later design. There was a mid-year change. These are the droids you're looking for.

Magnaflow 49694 Direct-Fit converter (driver side)

Magnaflow 49695 Direct-Fit converter (passenger side)

Magnaflow 51335 semi-universal converter (same part for each side)
