Best fix for 2001 5.4 exhaust

My pass side cat is rotted off just past the end of the cat. See pic below.
The driver side seems to fine for now. I was thinking of just having a high flow cat (like Magnaflow 94306) slapped in place of my bad OEM cat, and leaving the pre-cat in place. I wouldn't do anything to the driver side cat or pre-cat. Does this seem like a reasonable solution? I'm not looking for performance here, just looking to fix the exhaust as cheap as possible.
Thanks.

why not have it rewelded (it'll probably seperate again due to the rust issues)

Aftermarket direct fit cats aren't that expensive at rockauto.com.
