OBX longtube frame clearance / engine rotation?

Got my 5.4 in and going through the hell of installing long tubes. Driver side was a piece of cake, passenger was a major PIA with studs. I wonder if bolts would have been easier?

Anyway, the passenger side header is making contact with the frame heat shield at the very top. I think I can dent the shield to prevent contact, but I'm concerned that if the engine rotates, it will hit. If one is looking at the front of the truck, does the engine rotate clockwise or counter clockwise when under load?

I searched and Built 5.4 said he had 1/8" clearance with no issues, but he didn't specify exactly where the clearance concern was.

Thanks!

One more thing - Should I put antisieze on the nuts retaining the header (Stainless) or use nothing? I already used antisieze on the studs into the head. I don't think the torque is high enough to cause galling.?

On my install, the passenger side header would rattle against the frame during operation, driving me nuts. So I had to pull it off, and I used a BFH to dent the offending pipe in a tad, to gain the clearance I needed. I also used Stage 8 Locking bolts, instead of the studs, but assembly is still no fun. But with this kit, you won't need to worry about loose bolts.

So you may need to clearance some things on your set-up as well. Do it the first time you install, and you won't have to take it all back out. If it looks too tight, make some room if you can.

My 4.6 goes counter-clockwise.

Thanks guys.

I'll need to check based on rotation if I will be getting closer or further. Hopefully further!
