Exhaust Help with 2010 Ford F150

Hi all. New to the Forums and this is awesome. New Ford F150 owner as well. Never had a truck before so I need some help.

It's a King Ranch btw. I've noticed the exhaust is single side and has no tip. I just want to fancy it up a little with dual exhaust with Tips. That turned me on to the Flowmaster Force II system for about 600 on some internet sites.

Then I stumbled on this site, signed up, read the 900 page Exhaust sticky thread, and need some advice.

All I want is a nice dual setup with side exits and tips. I'll spend up to $800. I don't want to hurt performance in any way. If I can increase performance (MPG, Acceleration), and stay within the budget, then I'm all ears. I'm just not sure what that would actually be in terms of parts.

Maybe a Magnaflo cat back system that has side exits and tips? I couldn't find a kit like that for my truck. If there is a benefit to true dual with hi flow cats, what does something like that cost? And is that custom?

Sorry for the long winded thread. Just trying to make my request simple and i'm open to all suggestions.

I'm in Central NJ also if there is a shop that anyone recommends I get the work done at.

Thanks so much!

Just had a Borla XR-1 installed with 4x18" stainless tips and it's the best decision i've ever made. Go with Borla!

How about the Magnaflow 16523? $660 free shipping from Amazon.com.

Dont buy a bolt on kit. Get one custom fabbed up at your local exhaust shop. Just buy whatever muffler you want and the tips and go from there.

I also say Borla. Either that or the Dynomax Bullet

Depends on quality of piping, bends, labor rate, location. Just for perspective, the exhaust I'm having fabbed for my truck will put 99% of the vehicles exhaust around me to shame. I'm going all out. It's all what you're after.

What is that going to cost you? I can't imagine less than 600 for anything that is going to be custom. I just want something that sounds and looks better than the stock exhaust. I don't want to spend more than 1000 either. The bolt on kits seem to be a very simple option at around 600.

I'm thing 6-800. I have all the parts though so it could be less. Take a look at the local shops quality. If it looks poor, get the kit

Okay great. Now we are getting somewhere. That sounds very reasonable. So I get the tips and mufflers from Borla and then get a local shop to do the piping. The good stainless I know about.

Any ideas on where to find a good local shop? Not a midas or meineke, right? I'm in Central NJ btw.

Correct. I have 600 in parts right now. My muffler was 150, 200 for cats, 60 for tips, and I'll add another 300 in O2 sensors and y pipes. Shop around and look for deals. I've been gathering parts since December.

I got in touch with a hot rod shop 2 towns over from me. I'm going mandrel bent and 304ss so I needed a high end shop.
