Need Cat Help Please

Hi guys,

Sorry to be a PITA, but theres so many different cats that all look the same and idk which ones I need.

So I have a 2004 5.4 with JBA Cat4ward short headers and a Borla Catback exhaust. ( pretty sure it has the 3" headpipe and 2.25" tailpipe).

I want to have a more aggresive sound without having to be up in the 3000+ rpm range.

Butttt.... I live in a highly populated area (30 mins from NYC) where villages, some smaller than one square mile have their own police force.

So im looking for something that will be loud, but not too loud where I have to be worried about getting tickets, or idling outside of someones house in the middle of the night and making too much noise.

Also should I uprade the Y pipe? and will I need to buy some pipe to fill in the sections where the pre-cats were?

I plan on taking the truck to well known exhaust shop in Westbury, NY (not sure if im allowed to post their name). They now do all types of repair, not just exhaust. The guy steve told me about $150 to install. I really want to go to my regular mechanic, but will this be too complicated since it's not just a direct replacement?

Thanks,
Garrett

thanks for the help everyone

i changed my mind. im just going to cut out the rear cats and throw some pipe in its place. if that is too loud i will consider the cats, which should be cheap after selling the rear ones i cut out.
